He is so much like a movie star. Not only he has a fan club, he also had a few wardrobe changes yesterday for Halloween. He was a business man for the first part of the show, and we took him trick or treating around the neighborhood. Brent made jokes about Nico losing is job in Wall Street and having to go back to his parents’ now. He got a good amount of candy
: ) Then he switched to a bumblebee to go to the local parade on 7th Ave, where daddy performed as a giant paper mache bird. He was asleep for most of the parade, then woke up in the middle of the thing and got a bit overwhelmed. We had a great time though, we went with our neighbors and there were tons of people with really cool costumes. I’ll have to step it up next year and do something, this year I was so excited about Nico getting dressed up I didn’t really think about myself at all. But that’s what being a mom is like most of the time, right?

We’re getting ready to go on a walk around the neighborhood looking for Christmas presents – there’s a local campaign going on to try to get people to shop local, since rents are going through the roof and a lot of stores have had to shut down. We just saw one of our favorite plant stores close, and a little organic market where I got my occasional fix of gummy bears will be next. Meanwhile, now there are THREE bank of America branches on 7th Ave. Pretty upsetting. So we’ll try to keep things more local from now on. Which will take a little effort from this lazy online shopper, but hey, it’s worth it.

What else is new? Nico is almost crawling, he’s added ba-ba to his vocabulary, we’re hiring a new intern, we’ll be updating the site soon with some cool projects we’ve finished recently, I’m going through my second cold of the season, I started knitting again, and now we have 32 square feet of roof deck all built by Brent and Wai. Just a little over 900 sq feet to go!

Our Life in Brooklyn keeps you updated on what Brent and Teresa Lagerman are up to. Looking at most of the posts you’d think we didn’t spend much time in Brooklyn, we do love to travel, so we’ll take you along as we visit Stuart, Madrid, Syracuse, TX, Washington, and of course we’ll always end up back in Brooklyn.
