Winter break!

When it’s 25 degrees outside and windy, it’s hard to believe that just a couple of months ago we were able to be out and about just wearing shorts and t-shirts. But not only we did, we get to do it again – in November! Yipeee! I took a trip to the basement to pick up a few summer clothes and now we’re pretty much ready to go! We’re leaving tomorrow to spend 10 days in Florida, where Nico will probably see the ocean for the first time, hang out with his cousins, get spoiled immensely, and have his first Thanksgiving. Lots of things to look forward to!

It’s been sort of quiet for the last couple of weeks. Work has been busy as always but not too bad. My mom visited for a week so I got to relax a good amount, it’s great to have her just pop by every month and a half or so. She’s addicted to her grandson! She even got questioned by the customs officer when she arrived. It all reminds me a little of when I was in Spain and Brent and I managed so see each other every month or two and the immigration officers would give me a hard time. It’s hard to be so far away from someone you love, whether it’s a boyfriend or a grandson or a good friend. It’s something that I’ve learned to deal with over the years, although sometimes it’s still hard not to feel lonely.

Nico can stand holding on to something – he loves to practice holding on to the new little ottomans we got. He’s still crawling like a seal, but a lot faster than he used to. He’s making lots of sounds, no ma-ma for now though. And next week he’ll turn 8 months! It seriously flies by. Today he fell asleep on me after I gave him a bottle and we took the sweetest nap together, it barely happens anymore so I took in every minute  : )  He’s such a grown up boy.

Our Life in Brooklyn keeps you updated on what Brent and Teresa Lagerman are up to. Looking at most of the posts you’d think we didn’t spend much time in Brooklyn, we do love to travel, so we’ll take you along as we visit Stuart, Madrid, Syracuse, TX, Washington, and of course we’ll always end up back in Brooklyn.
